Graduate Agronomy Program

Our Graduate Agronomy Program is a 2-year program that gives those who have completed their tertiary agricultural based degree within the past 2-years the opportunity to kick start their careers. It is a structured program encompassing a range of essential agronomic and soft skills led by a dedicated Graduate Manager.

Our Graduate Agronomy Program focuses on developing young talent, seeing passionate people become talented agronomists and progress towards consultancy, with the support of experts within Delta Ag. Although you will be based in one location, we offer exposure to other key locations throughout the program.

 

Delta is highly focused on adding value to our clients, and your ability to understand and deliver these outcomes will be integral to your ongoing success. Each year we take a small number of graduates at several different locations across Australia.

Graduate Precision Ag Program 

Our two-year Precision Ag Graduate program works to develop talent, taking graduates through a structured process to build a career as a Precision Ag Specialist. Delta Ag’s Precision Ag Team is an industry leading advisory team that operates across NSW, Vic, SA and WA offering advisory services on implementing practical Precision Ag solutions into commercial farming operations. Your role as a Precision Ag (PA) Specialist is to become the PA expert in your region and provide advice to our agronomic team and clients. You will work in close collaboration with our agronomy team and our clients to identify, develop and implement better management practices by understanding the cross-over between farming operations and the insights gained from analysing spatial data. The overall objective is to deliver value for growers, through developing practical opportunities to manage production costs and improve farm profitability and sustainability.

The program will have you commence as a Precision Ag Graduate, supporting our PA Specialists and Agronomic Team to provide specialized advice on PA technology and how to improve agronomic decision making for our farming clients.

This role is ideal for a technically minded individual who wants to develop a career making a difference in Australian agriculture. The team strongly values innovation; transforming the latest research into commercial applications, streamlining internal systems and processes to scale our business, growing our competitive edge and delivering on-farm support to increase the value we bring to growers. Your real strength will be your commitment to drive innovation to your client’s profitability through superior service, continued learning and a willingness to challenge the status quo. You will require a commercial, agile, and positive attitude, with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills as well as general knowledge of farming operations.

To be successful in the role you will

  • Have recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Soil Science, Engineering, Business, Data Science, GIS, Computer Science.

  • Have a passion for agriculture and the drive to innovate and continually improve.

  • Self-driven and capable of self-led learning with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Basic understanding of geospatial and precision agriculture concepts and technologies, including GPS, drones, and remote sensing.

  • Basic knowledge of crop management practices, including soil, nutrition, pest, and disease management.

  • Be enthusiastic, positive and willing to roll your sleeves up to get the job done. Be committed to growing a business through adding value to our clients and demonstrate an ability to deliver excellent customer service.

  • Commitment to innovation and sustainable agronomic and farm management practices.

  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to simply communicate complex concepts.

  • Great computer skills and ideally experience with geospatial information systems – QGIS, ArcGIS, PCT, Farm Management Systems.

Other Requirements

  • Local and occasional interstate travel.

Graduate Agribusiness Program

Our Graduate Agribusiness Program is a 12-18 month program that gives those who have completed their tertiary degree within the past 2 years the opportunity to kick start their careers. It is a structured and staged program where graduates are exposed to all facets of the business and trained in both business and soft skills. Our Graduate Agribusiness Program is about developing young talent who are passionate about agriculture and helping building career paths to pave the way for Delta Ag's future. Although you will be based in one location, we offer exposure to other locations throughout the program. 

  

Delta Agribusiness is highly focused on adding value to our clients, and your ability to understand and deliver these outcomes will be integral to your ongoing success.
